When Mike Campbell played his Starplayer TV during the 2008 Super Bowl halftime break show with "Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers", it immediately became a milestone for Duesenberg history and an icon around the world.
Mike has been a close friend ever since.
The Alliance Series Mike Campbell is based on our versatile Starplayer TV design. The entire instrument is finished in metallic light blue with added white twinstripes on top. The pickguard shows Mike’s signature.
Today, the Alliance Series Mike Campbell features three different instruments, two semi-hollow and one all-hollow that are directly fitted to Mike's needs but created for everyone to enjoy.

The Alliance Series Mike Campbell comes in two different constructions. The smaller, Starplayer TV shaped instruments feature our versatile semi-hollow construction with a solid centerblock. The big-body Mike Campbell Hollow is all-hollow for a lot of moving air and feedback control.
All Editions come with our own premium pickups. The blue and green versions are fitted with our acclaimed set of pickups that combines the sharp tone of a bridge humbucker with the warmth of a P90 in the neck position. The red all-hollow version features two P90 pickups for a pure and raw hollow tone.
Just like all our instruments, the Alliance Mike Campbell receives our elaborate Plek treatment. A pleked fretboard guarantees perfectly level frets. This is the basis for our fret polishing and setup work all done by hand that eventually makes our instruments play like nothing you have ever played before.
These tuners are not only extremely precise and super comfortable to use, they also allow you to hide the sharp string ends inside the tuner shaft, so they don't damage your case, gigbag or fingertips.

The string-action, the height of the strings over the frets, can only be set low and comfortable if all frets are precisely the same height. To achieve that, we use the ingeniuos Plek machine that levels all frets with a precision of 1/100 of a millimeter. Each fret is measured and cut individually to achieve optimal playability of the instrument.Our elaborate finishing work is done entirely by hand. Each fret is polished to perfection and all fretboard edges are carefully rounded off for a smooth feel.

Our creamy Domino P90 in the neck position and the classically voiced GrandVintage Humbucker at the bridge form an all-around dream team many have tried to replicate.The acclaimed middle position of the Heavy Duty 3-Way Switch features a special wiring which filters certain low-end frequencies out of the humbucker signal. The result is an open, funky and extremely versatile addition to your pallet of tone.
Buttery smooth action, reliable tuning stability and string changes that are a breeze are just the main aspects of our unique vibrato design.
The Diamond Deluxe gives you the best tone while being lightweight. Heavy duty needle and nylon bearings give you the highly responsive Duesenberg feel when using the vibrato arm. The arm itself can be turned freely for 360° and can be adjusted to your preferred angle and length. The strings are simply guided through the holes in the bar underneath the arm-axis and can be lead to the tuners without any hassle.

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers" we created a special metallic Racing Green edition of the Alliance Series Mike Campbell. It proudly wears an all-over finish and is fitted with a special nickel plated pickguard showing the 40th Anniversary logo of "The Heartbreakers".
The Mike Campbell II features a so called “Destruct Knob” placed at the lower cutaway, which enables you to boost the signal by up to 10db, controlling distortion and feedback at any time with the touch of a fingertip. When turned down, the booster can be switched off by turning it even further until it solidly clicks into place where it is taken completely out of the signal.
You will find the geometrical three steps in almost every part on our instruments, from the curves on the headstock to the shape of the output jack.
When compared to regular chrome finishes, nickel has a beautiful warm and elegant sheen and ages naturally over time. It's the way things were done before chrome became the standard. If you don't want the hardware on your instrument to age, we recommend regular cleaning.
